Chamber President Laurie White caught up yesterday with the outgoing president of Bryant University, Ronald K. Machtley, as he concludes 24 years at the helm - transforming Bryant from a regional business college to a top ranked national university.

Their conversation covered the most memorable experiences of President Machtley's tenure, the characteristics of today's college students, the future of higher education, cognitive technology literacy, the advancement of women in business, campus architecture and learning to live with uncertainty and disruption.

"So what's going to happen, I think, is during this coming year there will be a reset on the cost structure of higher education."
