The Economic Outlook Luncheon kicks off The Garage event and welcomes more than 500 members and guests to listen to top Rhode Island business and civic leaders speak about their experiences and share insights into their success. This year's keynote speaker is Scott Donnelly, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at Textron, Inc. Consistent with the theme of The Garage, where the power of a single idea can ultimately transform the world; Donnelly will be discussing the importance of product innovation at Textron businesses today.
This second installment of The 2014 Garage series will kick off with the annual Knowledge Economy Forum featuring keynote speaker, Dr. Robert Atkinson, president and founder of The Information Technology & Innovation Foundation who will discuss his organization's 2014 New Economy Index. Following the Forum, The Garage "Strengthening the New Economy" Company Showcase will highlight Rhode Island companies that represent knowledge-based, innovative, globalized, entrepreneurial or IT driven industries – many of the categories in which Rhode Island made significant progress in this year's New Economy Index. A showcase opportunity for Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce (GPCC) member businesses! At the GPCC we want to foster interesting conversations, “aha” moments and productive collaborations between our members. To do that, we host an engaging, dynamic program -- The Inside Track. The Inside Track is a simple presentation format, where member businesses display 20 images (each for 20 seconds, for a maximum of 7 minutes) that help portray how your business’ product lines and services address needs in the marketplace. Accompanied by live commentary, The Inside Track is a platform to tell your story, and inform attendees on the latest trends and offerings in your field. It's a concise, rapid-pace program that helps to promote your expertise within the RI business community. In addition to the presentations, The Inside Track will also include an educational component.
